What’s your story, how did you get started?

I have always been making things. When living in the US I started selling at minor craft and artisian fairs. My items were very well recieved, which encouraged me to open my Etsy shop SewDanish - Scandinavian Textile Art.

What’s your muse?

I’m Danish, currently living in England with my American husband. With family and friends in several countries we travel a lot. Every where we go I bring my camera and sketchbook. I have enough design-inspiration-photos for several decades, many of them can be seen on my blog http://SewDanish.blogspot.com

What are your favorite materials when creating?

As a textile artist I work with fabric and fiber. I mainly just buy white fabrics and threads and then dye it. I love building surfaces up from scratch combining various coloring mediums.

What are your goals?

Being an exhibiting textile artist I would like to keep developing my work while having fun. For my etsy shop more sales are always great :-) and I’m hoping to break 200 sales in the next month or two.

editors note: this goal was met, the shop is currently at 228 sales!!

Any advice to share?

Every so often step away from the computer not allowing it to take up all your time. One can get totally absorbed in listing, promoting, social networking etc. almost forgetting to get any real-life work done.
Research and use all the amazing advice that are avaiable on the internet. A bit of research can save a lot of time!
